Factory extensions for renowned construction toy manufacturer

STUDIO IN-EX has been awarded with the complete architectural and engineering design of a series of factory extensions for the world’s most renowned manufacturer of plastic construction toys from Denmark. The winning proposal utilised BIM for all design disciplines. The extensions have consisted of a diverse set of buildings, such as offices, high storages, painting workshops, packaging and assembly facilities. Many of these types of facilities were technology intensive, not leaving a single square meter unused. Collaboration of all design disciplines in a closed-BIM system. This extreme density has required the most accurate coordination, which was only possible with BIM-based design. Out of the total 25+ disciplines, all of the major ones have worked in a universal, closed BIM system, while others have joined via open BIM workflows, so the entire project has been designed in a true BIM collaboration.
