NOT-SO-FANTASTIC ARCHITECTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM
Last week, our colleagues took part in another career orientation day entitled NOT-SO-FANTASTIC ARCHITECTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM, presenting the designing profession to the interested students of Babits Mihály Gimnázium.

In the first part of the presentation, they briefly summarised what subjects and knowledge to focus on if you wanted to study architecture, what university life was like. In the second part, they described what you could do as an architect and presented a specific project that our firm had designed. The presenting colleagues were:
Lilla Szmilkó, recent architectural graduate and BIM expert. She works in one of the newest fields in the construction industry, Building Information Modelling (BIM). She supports the design process by managing computer models and information databases.
Kamilla Zámbó and Dániel Dobszai, designers and architects They are involved in the technical and creative design of buildings and assist contractors on construction sites with technical and architectural design. They are also responsible for coordinating with the co-designing engineers (e.g. structural engineers, mechanical and electrical designers) and consulting with clients. We had the opportunity to participate in a truly complex orientation day at the grammar school and we are confident that our personal presentation has been an inspiration for the students involved and that more of them will choose a career in design.

Hydro Extrusion’s solutions: heat dissipation
By Hydro's aluminium foundry project presented us with an unusual design challenge. We have strong acoustic requirements to protect the neighbourhood, and that the furnaces generate a lot of heat, which we had to dissipate while minimising noise.
Hydro Extrusion’s solutions for the support structure
In our previous posts, we introduced you to our Hydro project and the design of the casting pits that form the backbone of the technology. This time we present some exciting solutions for the support structure.
