#mutiholdolgozol day (Showuswhereyouwork) in our office
On 3 April, we held a very special day at our architects’ office, in connection with the #mutiholdolgozol campaign. It was a day where the children of our staff could get an insight into our work and experience what their parents’ workday looks like.
First of all, with our HR Generalist Andi Bányász, the children were able to explore every corner of the office and even visit the car park and the bike storage. After that they almost occupied the 3rd floor.

Lilla Szmilkó, our BIM-Expert, immediately captured the children’s attention with her opening lecture entitled “This is how we play with LEGO!” Of course, everyone wanted to know how architects are using the famous bricks!
Peti Kovács, our fire protection designer, gave an interactive presentation on what fire protection means for a building. The children listened with interest as Peti detailed the process of making fire safety plans, somehow even managing to sneak in SpongeBob into the presentation.
Norbi Pekola, one of the mechanical engineers from our office, gave the kids an introduction of a typical day. He told them about the tasks he does on a typical workday and showed them the special tools and software he uses. And of course, how he gets a little extra energy during coffee breaks with his colleagues. 😉
Szilvi Muzsai stirred the children’s imagination with a playful detective task by raising the questions: What could stand in the way of a burglar? How can security systems help prevent unauthorised intrusion? To our surprise, all the children “passed the test” and solved the mystery with flying colours, so they could take home a certificate as a memento.
Emese Bálint, our electrical engineer, gave a detailed demonstration of lightning protection within the electrical design process: an exciting video showed what can happen in a building when lightning strikes. She introduced the kids to the world of electrical systems and equipment and showed them the important role these play in buildings and how we all can protect ourselves against the dangers of electricity.

And then came the children’s fantasy: our marketing expert Kata Móró showed the children how AI can help them “draw” the pictures they imagine. Whether it’s a pink unicorn on the beach, a green whale on a snowy mountain top, or a blue donkey on a football pitch, the key is to be able to describe the image we have envisioned, and if necessary, to refine and adjust the wording to get the most accurate representation of the graphic we want to see.
Matyi Gróf, our master printer, gave them the printed pictures. He showed them how the plotter works and together they could try out how to print and fold large-scale plans. We saw that they would be a great help if someone wanted to come and do some student work with us during the summer holidays.
It was time to give each child another burst of energy, so the Easter chocolate roundup was on – thanks to Eszti, the children found all the hidden goodies.
They couldn’t wait for the delicious pizza lunch, but perhaps even more so for the programme that followed: with Tomi Szilágyi, everyone got a taste of the world of VR.
With the help of VR glasses, they were able to take virtual tours of buildings, giving them an even more lifelike experience of the architectural designs and the finished buildings. The eager little ones felt as if they were actually there and enjoyed exploring every detail of the buildings. This modern approach brought them even closer to the exciting world of design. The VR experience also helped to make this special day at the office even more interactive and experiential for them.
And for the guys with a deeper interest in IT, our developer János Ruzsicska showed them in practice how we develop software that not only makes the work of design engineers easier but can take it to an even higher level.
The day was not only exciting and educational for the children, but also an opportunity for our staff to share their love and passion for their profession. We hope our #mutiholdolgozol day will remain a memorable experience for all of us and perhaps inspire the next generation to explore the world of design and architecture.

By Hydro's aluminium foundry project presented us with an unusual design challenge. We have strong acoustic requirements to protect the neighbourhood, and that the furnaces generate a lot of heat, which we had to dissipate while minimising noise.
